Alclometasone - Aclovate |
Alclometasone - Aclovate Dipropionate is the Generic version of the
branded topical skin care cream named Aclovate launched by
GlaxoSmithKline-GSK which is extensively prescribed and used for
treating different types of skin conditions that include: eczema,
dermatitis, allergic reactions like rash etc. The cream is proved to
be effective enough of minimizing inflammation or swelling, itching
sensation and redness that usually emerge following such skin
conditions. The medication is considered to be the average effective
corticosteroid type.
Since Aclovate-Alclometasone Propionate is the skin cream especially
meant for the external usage, it is recommended to be applied or
rubbed on the effective area of the outer skin surface only. It is
not advised for use on the face, groin, and under-arms or for diaper
rash unless otherwise advised by the doctor. The recommended method
of using this ointment can give remarkable results hence before
applying this medication on the affected area, wash and dry hands,
clean and dry the affected area.
Then a thin layer of cream is supposed to be applied and rubber
gently until the cream is absorbed completely in the skin. The wound
should not be bandaged after applying this cream. Hands should be
thoroughly washed clean after every application.
The treatment varies depending on intensity of the affected skin
area but on an average the standard dose which is recommended is 2
to 3 applications daily or as directed by the physician. This
medication may be applied around the eyes if need be but with
special care as it should never enter in to the eyes; it may worsen
or lead to glaucoma.
